80 Falcons Take Flight With Passports, Image Goes Viral

Falcons have been flying for centuries, but now, they fly with style, on-board flights!

A Saudi Arabian prince booked flight seats for 80 falcons, who were all on-board with passports as per immigration requirements, when a captain friend clicked the photo that went viral on Reddit network.

We accept the carriage of falcons in the main aircraft cabin provided that all the necessary documents have been obtained. We also accept falcons as checked baggage,” says the Etihad Airways official website.

“You are permitted to carry one falcon on board the Economy Class passenger cabin of an aircraft, and a maximum of six falcons are permitted within the Economy Class cabin of an aircraft (country regulations may apply),” says the Qatar Airways official website.

However, the birds require passports that are stamped at immigration, just like the non-winged flying passengers.

According to reports, falcons are not that rare a sight on flights in the Middle East, as the old  ‘art’ of falconry is still considered an active sport in many parts of the world.
